What are Insulated Panels ?

Insulated Panels are manufactured with two layers of pre-finished colour steel and a core of rigid insulating foam. This sandwich configuration acts synergistically to form a composite that is much stronger than the sum of its parts. These panels are light in weight and very strong.

Why use Insulated Panels ?

Insulated Panels have many properties that make them a viable alternative to traditional methods of insulation. In addition to their economical and quick construction, Insulated Panels are also:

• Strong: The structural properties of the panels means that conventional steel and timber framing are not required, saving money and time and producing a clean uncluttered building.
• Insulated: High thermal insulation values make the panels especially suitable for temperature controlled buildings such as coolstores and freezers. However all buildings gain by being well insulated.
• Prefinished: The high quality factory produced paint finish on both sides of the panels gives a smooth hygienic surface, particularly suitable for food areas. This type of finish has become the standard finish for food processing buildings in NZ.

Advantages of using Insulated Panels:

• Quick Construction: Panels are prefinished and premade lending itself to quicker construction time over timber and frame construction.
• Proven Technology: Insulated Panels were first developed by the US Government in the 1950s as a solution to building structures in remote locations which demanded exceptional insulation properties and also provided the structural strength of the building.
• Safer Buildings: Simply by design, insulated panels build a stronger structure, a quieter and cleaner interior environment and greater protection from fire damage.

Panel Options:

• All insulated panels have prefinished steel surfaces. They can also be site finished with a range of textured coatings.
  
• Panel thickness’s vary from 50mm to 300mm
